Conveyor

UHMW is often used in conveyor systems as it has a low coefficient of friction, minimal moisture absorption, and reduces or eliminates arching and bridging.

PU conveyor belts are constructed using FDA-approved materials, making them ideal for food production. They can withstand both extremely low and extremely high temperatures without melting or warping. PU conveyor belts are also easy to clean.

Acetal is another often-used conveyor-system plastic. It is sometimes referred to as cut-resistant POM (Polyoxymethylene), is easily machined, and comes in several grades. Acetal’s natural lubricity and low friction coefficient make for smooth rolling. Some Acetal and UHMW grades are metal and X-Ray detectable, which allows food processors to reduce post-packaging contamination.

Polyamide is also a popular material. The timber and mining industries use heavy-duty nylon belts on conveyors because they are exceptionally robust, silent, and abrasion-resistant.

Polypropylene has an operating temperature range of up to 212 °F. It is a tough substance with strong pulling power and is often used in high-temperature installations featuring boilers and dryers. It also offers exceptional chemical resistance to harsh cleaning agents, among other solutions.

PVC belts can handle contact with chemicals. They are known for being durable. PVC belts are often corrugated for maximum grip.
