German PP Welding Rods

German PP Welding Rods supplied by Rochling Germany

Can you weld PP?

Polypropylene (PP) is one of the easiest thermoplastics to weld and is used for a variety of applications. For PP welding, the welder should be set at approximately 572°F/300°C. Your temperature determination depends on the type of welder you purchase and the manufacturer's recommendations.

Polypropylene is used in some ATV fenders, dirt bike fenders, and gas tanks. Since polypropylene is very stable (meaning few things react with it), it is almost impossible to make quality repairs using adhesives, and why not use it to contain chemicals (gasoline, pesticides etc.) is used which reacts with other plastics. Welding is the best way to repair polypropylene. The blue color of this bar matches many blue polypropylene applications like Yamaha dirt bikes, where you need a more invisible repair. This package contains 30 feet (9.1 meters) of blue polypropylene plastic welding rod. Each rod is 12" (30cm) long and 1/8" (3mm) in diameter. It is also available in other colors and other diameters in triangular and round form.
